ORANGES
Responsible for all aspects.
This was a procedural shading exercise using Mantra. The oranges were modeled inside Houdini and they were arranged using a Phyllotactic pattern so that they never intersected with each other.
ORANGE MODELING
STEP 1
I start with a primitive sphere.
STEP 2
Then I flat the top.
STEP 3
I push down some edges on the top to create the seams.
STEP 4
I add a mountain node to add some random bulkiness on the shape.
STEP 5
I unwrap the UVs to be able to texture it.
STEP 6
I apply the shader.
STEP 7
I model and attach the peduncule.
STEP 8
I copy the oranges and arrange them following a phyllotactic pattern, changing the position and the rotation of each copy.
