World Hippopotamus Day

Responsible for character design, digital sculpting, retopology, texturing, look development, rigging, layout, FX and compositing.

Short animated loop made for MAKE's Gallery on Instagram during my internship.   

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks

Responsible for texturing and shading of Tiger Shark monster truck.

Work done as a MAKE intern for a Mattel's Hot Wheels Monster Trucks commercial spot.

La Manigua + Feather Tool

Houdini, Mari, ZBrush, Arnold,

Maya, Substance Painter, Nuke

Responsible for all aspects. Design inspired on animals of the Amazon Rainforest. 3D model made with different techniques of sculpting, retopology and procedural model. The scales were made procedurally following a Voronoi pattern, and feathers were achieved with a custom tool made in Houdini for their creation and placement on the model. Retopology and UVs with Maya. Maps were baked in Substance Painter and texturing was done with Mari. Layout and lighting was done in Houdini with Arnold, and later composited in Nuke.

This was the capstone project for my Master's degree.

Cheerios Hearty Nut Medley

Nuke

Responsible for 3D model, texturing and look development of Cheerios variations. Also, responsible of rotoscoping the milk in live-action plate.

Work done as a MAKE intern for a Cheerios commercial spot.

Hitchhiking Ghosts: Ezra

ZBrush, Maya, Arnold, Nuke

Responsible for 3D model, shading and lighting. 

Personal project inspired on a character from "The Haunted Mansion" attraction.

Tourist Pho - SCADpro x NASA

Houdini, Maya, Substance Painter, Nuke, Procreate

Responsible for modeling and texturing 3D assets, creating 2D assets, set dressing the environments and final compositing. SCAD partnered with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to come up with innovative ways to communicate and educate about their ICESAT-2’s scientific mission. Tourist Pho is an animated short displayed on some of NASA's social media, to educate general audiences about how their satellite works.

Mechanical Whale

Responsible for all aspects. Mechanical movement achieved with procedural animation in Houdini. Assets made with Blender and Procreate. Finalized in Houdini with Mantra, and composited with Nuke.

Academic project inspired on the work of Sylvain Gautier, recreating one of his wooden automatons.

Procedural Building Tool

Houdini

Responsible for all aspects. The tool can create different variations of a building style modifying the width, depth and amount of floors, through high-level parameters. It also lets the user change the distance between windows.

Carnaval de Barranquilla

Maya, Substance Painter,

Arnold, Procreate, Nuke

Responsible for all aspects. Non-traditional cuckoo clock scene. The design is inspired on an important festival in Colombia. Modeling, UVs, layout and lighting made with Maya, texturing in Substance Painter and Procreate. Rendered with Arnold and composited in Nuke.
